Regarding Characters - Guild Wars Forums

Just wondering about characters, if i brought Factions for example can i use my NF character in factions or do i have to create a new character for that campaign? likewise for the other campaigns/expansions

You can take your NF character across to Factions once you reach a certain point in the storyline. I think it's once you've unlocked Consulate Docks as an outpost through the primary storyline quests, you can get a quest from Mhenlo to travel to Cantha.

However, if you care about storyline, I suggest starting a character in Factions and play up till the mainland, and then play with your NF character from there. It'll give you a better idea of what's going on. If you don't care about storyline, then there's no need to do this (there's no need even if you do care, I just find it is more enjoyable to witness the full story of a campaign).

I assume that is the same for the other campaign's?

I probably would play though the story. i like a bit of story time

Yeah so you cant make ritu/assa in nf/tyria or derv/para in faction/tyria

But you can go to that campaing do missions and stuff just not all quests etc

You can run through the lesser level areas of any of the other chapters if you wanted so for example A factions character could run from Lion's arch to Ascalon and do the earlier missions but I don't think the quests will be avilable, pre-searing will be locked out however.

Note: You need the chapters unlocked on the same account.
